Cumberland Falls, sometimes called the Little Niagara, the Niagara of the South, or the Great Falls, is a large waterfall on the Cumberland River in southeastern Kentucky. Spanning the river at the border of McCreary and Whitley counties, the waterfall is the central feature of Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, which is surrounded by the Daniel Boone National Forest.

Just about 5 miles before reaching the parking lot for Cumberland Falls off of a forest road called Dogslaughter Road. A short hike gets you here and go a little further to get to the Cumberland River.

Area Attractions
Gift Shop, Snack Shop and Visitor's Center. Visit the gift shop, featuring a large selection of Kentucky handcrafts, and the snack shop and visitors center, both located in the falls area. The new Visitor's Center is expected to be the first stop in a visitor's encounter with the falls area. Inside the center, a three-dimensional relief map outlines major park facilities. Other exhibits show the area's geology and history and illustrate Native American life. Another display advises visitors how to stay safe in the park, such as staying within the barrier at the falls, avoiding cliffs, and refraining from wading in the river.

Snack shop is open April 1 - October 31. Gift Shop and Visitor's Center open year-round.

The Blair Museum, located in the lodge, features Native American artifacts and exhibits relating to area plants, animals, and history.
